Do you like Coffee? Gosh, I couldn’t live without it. Well, there is no doubt that the Internet is your gateway to the fabulous world of coffee. We love to drink it, make it, cook with it, enjoy it in a restaurant, ponder added ingredients… you get the picture. We have strong opinions on coffee, and we don’t pull our punches. So if you have the guts, read on.

First, many of our fans drink instant coffee. We love you all, but look, it ain’t coffee. Yes, we’ve tried the new breed of micro-crystallized instant, and it’s pretty good, especially in a pinch. But if you have the four minutes it takes to drip a fresh steaming mug of Joe, you will be amply repaid by one of nature’s tastiest gifts. We use filtered water in a electric teapot, it takes less than a minute to boil. We’ve found that three minutes in a French press gives us the taste we want, and we don’t have to bother with filters.

Now, some purists frown on adding milk to the coffee. We disagree – it’s good both ways, depending on our mood. What we cannot countenance is adding sugar, non-dairy creamer, or one of those abominable flavors like pumpkin spice. If you want that kind of dessert, have some pie or cake with your coffee.

Lattes? Cappuccinos? Yes! Not many people are set up at home to make them, and they are expensive at your local coffee bar, but good golly are they delicious! We always have the barista add extra shots of espresso, and specify extra-hot milk.
